ABSTRACT

Obesity is a condition of multifactorial etiology in which genetic behavioral and psychosocial factors contribute to energy imbalance. Overweight can be defined as an increase in body weight above some standard level. Obese people usually have a disturbance in eating behavior as a result of which they ingest excessive amounts of calories for their level of caloric consumption. To obtain lowering in overweight of obese persons it is necessary to achieve a negative balance between the caloric intake in contrast with the caloric expenditure. Therefore, is then unquestionable the fact that the therapeutic strategie for the treatment of overweight should be the caloric restriction, with a greater physical activity. the authors present in this article the most reliable prognostic factors in the treatment of this disease
